The 3rd year Animal Science students had their first artificial insemination (AI) practical at the University of Pretoria Experimental farm on the 8th of April.
Each of the students first practices on the “Betsies” before they have the opportunity to AI on the cattle of the experimental farm.
Betsie is a plastic replica of a cow’s reproductive tract that is used for educational purposes.
